2226 Balance Slider

Hello,

I've got a 2226 with a balance slider that has been snapped off at the knob and am looking to replace it. Does anyone know what the part number is? I've been looking on that one auction site and have found parts from other units, but not the 2226 specifically. Is the balance slider interchangeable with any other units?

I've had pretty good luck replacing just the broken slider from a good one. The value comes from the backside board, not the slider itself. Plus no desoldering.

Oh nice! I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if I could just buy a cheap cassette slider and use that piece instead of looking for the exact part for my 2226.

I found one that is from a 2220b and has a similar part number: RS0504002...I wonder if I could just take the slider piece and install it into mine. The actual balance control works, but the knob has broken off.

Only used Marantz slider guts. Bend the hold down tabs up and remove the back. There are tiny parts inside maybe, been awhile since I needed to do one. Ball bearing and spring IIRC.

Just replace the innards and put back together and bend tabs back. Go to go.

Do others know the part numbers which fit a 2265 balance slider. Above is Part # RS05040050
Value - 500K ohm. and also RS0504002. Are there other numbers that I should look for as mine is broken. They are in fairly short supply on ebay. Will RS05030170 work? (fits as 4230). Thanks for any help.
