they are all worth 25 bux, assuming they work and clean up without too much effort. even better if they come with a decent cartridge.

What SpruceMoose said.
The Marantz is probably the least complicated, the 1019 is the oldest and has 4 speeds so if you want to 16s and 78s you're all set. I've had both.
I'd look the hardest at the 701 as it seems to incorporate a lot of the 1229 into a direct drive table. It may also have the nicest cartridge in it as it really is the top dog in the pack. A Shure V15 would not be out of line and seal the deal.

Marantz Model 6100 with Dustcover, extra Headshell, Audio-Technica AT3482P Cartridge

Dual 1019 with Dustcover (has hole in one corner), copy of Service Manual.

Dual 701 with Dustcover, Shure V15 Type III Cartridge, Copy of Service Manual

$25 each

Get the 701 and the Marantz and run home and plug it then, then go back when the wife is sleeping or at work (note I'm experienced here) and grab the other or pick it up at the same time offering him less as a deal on all 3 while hiding the dual in the trunk!

:thmbsp:

Or just tell the wife that you can sell the extra for a profit!

Yep, get on that 701

I'd probably go after the 6100 as #2 as it may flip better than 1019. Old Duals are notoriously complex and have many issues that need to be addressed, while the Marantz may just need a belt and be all set. The spare headshell is worth the $25 itself, but the cartridge is BOTL P mount. Then again, the cartridge carrier in the 1019 is worth $25 too...

Buy all three, sell two. Make wifey happy that way!:thmbsp:

EDIT: Keep profit in your Audio fund for later purchases. That way you won't have to ask permission.

it sounds like the craigslisting in tujunga

yeah, i'd be all over them if i didnt have plenty of TTs. i pass through tujunga on my way home from work. the 701 and the Marantz would be good, sell the one you dont want or keep it for backup.
