$250 Stimulus Check - Turntable Or More Vinyl?

I would have waited a little more and bid some more, but I've now got a vehicle insurance payment check pending and it would be BAD if it bounced. That's the primary reason for the $100 self-imposed limit, including shipping, I'm willing to pay, to protect that.

I wonder how often these 530 units show up on craigslist, and what they go for. I have no problem driving to one of the small cities within 100 miles of me to get one of these.
Yes, as kermit said, if someone has placed a high bid, it will automatically continue to outbid anything you bid that's lower.

Check on craigslist and see what you find. However, I strongly suggest you not rule out a PL-570. While not quite as plentiful as 530s, it was a better table and less well-known than the 530, so you may not have as much competition.

Alright, thanks guys. I will then. Holding off.

I got the TT's in my sig for a max of 212 ( the PX-3) The DP-EC20 came with 2 good carts (Signet TK10ML and Ortofon MC-20) for $100. Both local pickup from E-bay. The others were shipped, as is my latest, a Micro-Seiki BL-61. Both came thru fine...got fingers crossed on this one.

Read the packing thread, and let the seller know how you expect it to be shipped BEFORE bidding on it.

Also, consider the shipping charges that he lists. That $240 TT may have had $60 in shipping on top of that.

'table. And don't forget e-pray isn't the only place to find one. There's Craigslist, thrift stores, local "Trading Post" type publications, etc., etc..

Fine print

Have any of you folks that have gotten a check read the fine print on the back or on the stub, not sure which?

Reported to me that you might want to read it and report back here!

Easy choice--real TT. If you are patient you might be able to find a decent vintage TT and a good budget 1/2" cart (or new stylus if you find a table with a good cart on it) that will beat the snot out of the Ion (altho I've never heard one so I am just speculating)

It's Cragslist or eBay, or nothing for me. I'm one of a very, very few vinyl lovers in the entire county where I live. If you find a turntable in the thrifts here, 95-99% of the time its always trash ones like BSRs and the like, no truly real ones.

All of my TT's have come from E-bay. Picked up 2 of them locally, and the TT Angel watched over the other 4 while in transit.
