3200 Balance Slider

I have a 3200 with a broken balance slider pot. I tried to get one off the bay but it isn't working as a balance pot should (it increases the signal when you go to either side, when it should keep it the same) so I don't think this is a proper balance slider.

Do you know where I could find a suitable replacement? This is a 250K balance slider.

The balance potentiometer is not a regular pot. It has a resistive element for only 1/2 of the travel on each side One side is just a conductor from left to center, then becomes resistive, and the other is conductive from right to center, then becomes resistive. A typical pot is just resistive from end to end on both sides.

Thank you @AE Bob. That explains why this pot didn't work - it probably is a normal volume pot. Well it does the work of at least making the preamp work correctly when set at the middle but I would really like to get it back in proper shape.

Always learning...!
