4400 Mixing Speakers? Is this a problem?

I know it is quite a basic question but it's beyond me.

I have a Marantz 4400 with which I've been pushing 4 X 12 ohm Zu Omen MkII speakers through the four Main front & rear speaker connections. Set, of course to 50W X 4 mode.

I wish to also connect 2 X 8ohm FMI 80 speakers to the Remote Front speaker connections.

Will I be OK here? That is, no damage to the receiver?

I don't need to run 4 speakers on the remote circuits as well, do I?

I guessing I'll be Ok with the set-up, but I thought it best to ask the experts.

12 ohms per channel is excellent. These amplifiers can handle down to 4 ohms per channel, which is 2) 8 ohm speakers ran off of one amplifier, which is what a 2 channel amp (2275,2325,etc ) is doing with the remote button pushed in.
2)12 ohm speakers ran off of one amp is only 6 ohms. basically, a lower impedance speaker will make an amp work harder to generate the same loudness.

Your amp is 125 watts per channel in 2 channel mode.
 
Thanks for the input. I understand that the 12 ohm speakers draw less than the 8s, but I guess what I'm really asking is that if I only have 2 speakers (8 ohms) connected to the "front" remote channel, with the amplifier in "quad" configuration, will this harm the amp?
