Just trudged thru the snow into my local thrift to find theses stood in the TV and VCR corner......they were not there when i went in when they opened at 10AM so they must have just been dropped off....it was a slow day so i got them for just $5 for the pair.......

Not a lot of idea what they are, some form of A25 i would think.....perhaps an AK Dynaco expert could help.....

The tweeter looks like a SEAS type, and mabe the woofer as well......nice condition, not hooked them up as yet.......

Merry Christmas..you got yourself a nice looking pair of A25s sans the grills. I just took mine out of the closet to be part of another system I'm hooking up today...great speakers. Congratulations...I used to hunt the thrifts solely to find a pair of these, and though I found many other things during the hunt, I had to wait until a pair popped up on CL for mine. Nice find!

I have the grills.....they are just not in the picture........
 
Nice XL's

These are A25XL's they should have a 3 position tweeter control. The XL's had removable grills, improved tweeter, better power handling and improved efficiency (about 3db over original).

Wow great.....yes there is a 3 position tweeter control, the grills seem to have been re covered with Black grill cloth, hence the Dynaco logo badges are missing......

Yeah......i stopped myself........to be honest i had little idea what the speakers were.....i knew they were heavy, well made and seemingly with the original drivers.....apart from that i dident even know speakers were made in denmark......

So i am quite pleased they seem to be a well thought of speaker........

I offered the lady behind the counter $10 for the speakers but she refused saying that they need the room and if they dident sell they would only be going in the dumpster later in the week...........so i had to save them......
 
I bet somebody got a Bose system for Christmas and could finally get rid of their big old speakers.
 
Well.....connected them up to my sansui 7070, and they sound great.....i will let them have a few hours to warm up and see if they get any better.....

I feel i want to remove the metal surrounds on the tweeters......any thoughts on this ?

Could it improve the sound ?

You can remove them. Be careful, though, as they hold the magnet structure together. Carefully replace the screws if you decide to remove them. The screens aid in high-frequency dispersion. I tried this and didn't hear any dramatic improvement. YMMV.
