$5 Dynacos......maybe.......

very nice score indeed!

i wouldn't remove the tweeter guard. recapping the crossover will most likely improve the sound a lot. also, clean the 3 position switch. used to find these dynaco's in thrifts all the time, but that was years and years ago.

OK the tweeter cover thingys stay on......

Switch cleaning tomorrow.........

You can remove them. Be careful, though, as they hold the magnet structure together. Carefully replace the screws if you decide to remove them. The screens aid in high-frequency dispersion. I tried this and didn't hear any dramatic improvement. YMMV.

I have decided to leave it on......they must have put it there for a good reason eh ?

Nudies !!!!

The crossover, begging for a recap (i cleaned the switch by the way)

Very nice!!!! I have only heard A-25s briefly and was very impressed by what I heard.

This scared me though, " if they dident sell they would only be going in the dumpster later in the week..........."

I wonder how many classic speakers in nice condition they have dumpstered? The local thrift store here has the opposite problem, plastic boom box speakers stay for months. :(

I have stopped thinking about what classic stuff they have trashed in the past.....i personaly have rescued a couple of good turntables from there dumpster......so goodness knows what else has gotten past me.......

looks like those binding post nuts have bad corrosion. make sure the washer, which is connected to the wire it looks like, and the nuts are clean (no pun intd.:D) and making good contact.
