610 Custom Electra III (440) Question

It's the Late 420 or Phono only variant preamp. The 420 either came with a 510 chassis and a 30A 2nd amp(same as the phono only consolette) or the 310 head/preamp and a SA-16 Stereo Amp. This is the 310 head/preamp. The 510 chassis is identical to the 610 except for the tuner section. The back panel is the same except for the lack of an antenna on the 510. Check the 30001-39999 series model 420 Service manual. The 9 pin umbilical plugs into the SA-16 for all power, and the RCA's plug in to the inputs of the amp. There are Stereo Phono and Aux jacks on the back panel. The SA-16 was the 1st CONSOLE all stereo amplifier made by FISHER. It's fairly rare, and appears to be 2 - 30A amps on one chassis.

That's amazing! I had no idea that Fisher could pull together so many diverse parts to produce a phono only version of the Electra III series. Was this done in other years also?

Yeah. Starting with the 51 and 61 consolette's from 1956-57. The only difference was the Head unit. It basically ended with the CE III, but started back up with the '64 Allegro The A9 being Phono only and the A19 having AM/FM Stereo. This lasted thru 1967.
