62 Zenith Microtouch 2g changer help

I'm attempting to clean and lube my Zenith changer as it's been making noise when it rotates which is then being picked up by the cartridge. Trouble is after i get the platter off, i can't get the carousel off underneath.

When i pull up on the carousel (picture attached) it comes up a little bit then stops and i can't seem to get it free completely.

There appears to be a brass colored piece stopping it, but damned if i can figure out how to get it off.
Please help.

To remove the belt driven sub platter, you need to loosen two allen type screws underneath the chassis, they are around the center bearing well. The whole assembly will then lift off. I have heard of one
user who had to removed a c-clip underneath the fold up 45 spindle, but none of mine have ever had this and it is not shown in the schematic.

You have the top of the line Zenith built belt/idler drive changer found in the top Zenith models. It was manufactured up to 1968, and discontinued due to being too expensive to sell easily. The models below had the VM made Micro-Touch idler drive changers based on the VM 1200 changers.
