70's Sansui and Pioneer speaker selection for 9' x 9' music room

I need some seat-knowledge experts to assist me on selecting 2 sets of speakers to upgrade my speakers.

• My music room (stereo room) is 9' x 9' and so it is tight... so?
• The image uploaded shows my core systems of (2) Sansui and (1) Pioneer Amps.
• Both my Dual 1229's have failed now and I will be purchasing an RP-3 next 2 months.
• My speaker budget is 1800.00 if necessary. Used quality speakers that will match well with my systems.

Help us help you with some clarification

The picture you posted doesn't give any real clarity on what exact model's of Sansui (I can ascertain they are the AU series) & Pioneer or what your current speakers are.

Where will you be purchasing? online via (CL, FB Market, eBay etc)

Do you plan on small speakers on top of large like in the pic?

What are your current listening levels, loud, medium etc?

The best advice would be to demo if you can as your ears and what you hear is all that matters if not you're just going to get a bunch of biased suggestions that may or may not work for you.

Kinda hard because we don't know what you like. We can say what we like but that doesn't mean you will like it.

Likewise, the used market isn't like the nee market where one can just point to a pair and buy it. A lot depends on what's available where and, even more important, what condition it's in.

Thank you for catching this... I appreciate your help.

I have a small 9' x 9' room and therefore do not very loud... can only push the Sansui AU-9900 to a fraction of it's power... so low to medium.
I am open for the best options that will give me the best audio quality and audio range at an effective Return On Investment return.
I listen mostly to 1940's big band, jazz, blues, older rock and roll, and classical.

Currently:

• Pioneer TX-9500 II Tuner (1) 20 - 15K Hz
• Pioneer TX-7800 Tuner (1) 20 to 15 kHz
• Pioneer SX-8500 Integrated Amp (2) 7 - 40K Hz
• Pioneer RG-1 (1) Dynamic Processor (1) n/a
• Pioneer SG-9500 Equalizer (2) 5 - 70K Hz
• Sansui AU-7900 Integrated Amp (1) 5 - 40K Hz
• Sansui AU-9900 Integrated Amp (1) 10 - 50K Hz
• Sansui TU-9900 Tuner (1) 30 - 15K Hz

Future:
Pioneer SX-8500 and Sansui AU-9900 main systems
Sansui AU-7900 amp for my computer and small DVD with television.

The Sansui's are substantial and will drive most speakers so that shouldn't be a concern in what you choose.

What is your current access to used speakers? local CL/FB Market? any vintage audio shops in your region? if so keep your eyes open and see if you can stumble upon speakers such as

Polk Audio Monitors 7's

If you like the Advents maybe look for their Boston based cousins such as AR and or KLH as for the smaller speakers ADS is one of the small speaker/great sound champions.
