7199 replacement?

I recently purchased a phono stage kit that is based on the PCF802, a tv triode/pentode. I have not yet built the power supply and fired it up, but a friend who has used quite a variety of phono preamps is using it and has very good comments. The valve has an odd heater rating of 9V, but that is not a huge problem if it is otherwise suitable. Can the experts here look at the data and comment?

Tube # preceded by 'P' are intended for series string heater circuits, generally without power transformers, and heater operating voltage/current draw varies.
Tube # preceded by 'E' are always 6.3 Volt heater operable, at varying current draw. Some dual section types also can operate heaters at 12.6 volts with the two 6.3 Volt heaters in series, 6.3 volts in parallel.
Thus, an ECC83 is also a 12AX7.

An ECC83 is a superset of 12AX7 as they always ( unless cheating) have spiraled filaments and controlled heaters for serial use, equivalent to the US 'A' suffix or the european 'P' prefix.
