8-track player ID

Can anyone ID this 8-track player...

Might blow up the image of that little badge on the upper left. Seen that before, don't know what it is from. Somebody will though.

I believe that's a Samsung....

Take the cover off and look inside, during the seventies corporations were big on putting small pieces of paper inside saying it was inspected by whom, might have corporate info. Plus, company information was generally stamped into the back metal panel !

No papers inside and nothing on the back or bottom or inside of the unit, just the badge on the front...
Needs a belt and a 0,8uF 200V AC Electrolytic Non-Polarized Capacitor that starts the motor and maintains the voltage to keep the motor running.

Don't think it's a Samsung... I guess the player was made by some unknown company and this was the only one that they produced...

Actually, in that time period there were literally dozens of small Japanese manufacturers producing nameless products, name to be slapped on by the importer. I'm guessing this is one of those; not necessarily a bad thing, but nothing makes it stand out either. Points if it has an AC motor (which many did).

It has a ac motor and a cap to start the motor that is going bad, 0.8 uf @ 200v ac. The cap works fine if it's cold and then as the player runs it get rather hot and slows the drive motor till it stops... I guess I'll have to replace the cap with a 1.0 uf at 250v ac can't locate a 0.8... This is a quality built unit with tracking adjustment on it. Also the belt has some wear and slips a little bit...

If you notice I have removed the cap near the rear of the middle of the unit... It is defective... Gets hot and can't maintain voltage... I can start with motor in cap connected then remove the cap from the circuit.

Your first picture confirms my original thought. Somebody (who knows) made the basic transport, then another unknown factory added a transformer, lights and case and sold it to whoever wanted to stick their name on it. I've seen that basic transport assembly in lots of machines.
