9090db sl-1200mk2 why is the sound so low?

I doubt it the turntable at fault unless who wired it messed up somehow. My 1200mk2 competes with my CDP for output quite favorably . Half volume with WOPL will blow you out of livingroon, same goes with cdp except I can take it up a little higher because no risk of feedback. My TT is on cork pads and one if my D9s is about a foot away from the TT. The dampening is incredible in the Technics

Try another TT and theres your answer. Probably that old Sanusi

update:

I swapped out the cartridge and set up the pro ject phono box rs.

it sounds amazing, it's completely changed my whole system.

Where has my life been without a phone pre amp. Thanks for the information and heads up for everyone's that's helped me.
I am still learning how to adjust and tune my cartridges with the pre-amp but I'm sure that will come with time.

Good to hear! I wouldn't have spent $1200 on a phono stage, but then again it is a 1200. LoL

I would look at the two BA312 ICs on the phono board. Their job is to amplify the cartridge output. Easy to check out.
