any a/d/s speaker is worth the asking price of $50. This one looked good, metal grill with what looked like walnut veneer. Larger than the l400, or so it looked.
mystery solved. They are MINTY L7e's and they are in my living room playing Oehmichen on piano as I type...
The other gear is not half bad either. Especially the Onkyo TX-904 receiver. 60 wpc in stereo mode and a decent tuner according to reviews. supposed to also be low-ohm stable. Not sure it's a keeper, but certainly a new toy!
The TX-904 is a fun receiver once you get used to it. Not a main unit but you can play a different source on the main and remote speakers because they use different amps. Only 12 wpc on the remote speakers. I have one in the bedroom, an upgrade from the 906 that was in there. That 906 might find a place in the garage.
haven't plugged the Onkyo in yet, but I must say, these L7e's are impressive. i've picked up a pair of Boston HD8s to compare. can't wait to do some A/B testing between the two and against my own design.
