A properly operating Lenco does not rumble

Touching meter lead to ground wire and other lead to tonearm want, I get constantly fluctuating readings, mostly from 10-50ohms. Can't remember what this means?

On a positive note, I touched up the solder on the Lenco's RCA plugs, and it seems to have helped the very faint hum/buzz dimish to an even fainter hum/buzz. I wonder if this is the limit to quietness for this arm's old wiring?

Have yo tried a different set of RCAs or is DIN ( phono cable) connection? May have missed the specifics……

FWIW, the Lenco motor has a rather strong magnetic field. It can induce hum in poorly designed cartridges (e.g. Grado), in MC step-up transformers and even in phonostages. IIRC there was a thread over at Lenco Heaven where the guy was trying to find the source of hum and the problem was solved when he moved his SUT further away from the turntable.

You seem to have called it, stratokaster. It does seem like the motor's magnetic field is inducing hum in the cartridge. Now that there is a Denon DL-103 on the stock Jelco arm, it is apparent that the hum increases a tiny bit when the motor is turned on.

This is all concerning a VERY faint level of hum, BTW. Probably as good as the noise floor gets.

I own a modded Lenco 78 with stacked platter, after market idler (Italy) and main bearing/spindle (UK - from a Lencoheaven member).
