Hard-mounting a Grado FC+ w/8MZ stylus to the headpiece to replace the Grado 'P'-mount and giving a good few sessions produced a very satisfactory result, a very pleasant and rewarding combo. I suspect the 'P'-mount Grados may not give optimal performance in at least some set-ups. YMMV.

I picked up a T-60 with a Shure V15V and associated test LP at a garage sale this past weekend for $20!
Unfortunately the belt looked more like someone dribbled fruit rollup bits all over the underside of the platter and I think the V15 has the wrong stylus as it won't fit all the way into the cartridge body and pulling it out shows that the tube the cantilever attaches to is buckled at the back end. Still, $20!!! I had to re-solder one of the tonearm wires to the little PCB they attach to to get it up and running and I have a new belt on the way. Hopefully it will be here soon. In the meantime, thanks for all the great info in this thread. I'm looking forward to implementing some of these mods and having a go with it once the JICO V15V replacement stylus I've ordered arrives.

Nice score and welcome to the club. The t60 is a great turntable and it is well worth the time to do the mods.

Yeah, it clearly is steal and I feel very lucky. I also got a Shure Mk V test record with it and bought a ton of old 60's surf 7" singles from the guy for another $5, though those are pretty much all trashed beyond reason. It was funny because when I walked up to this garage sale I saw the TT and a guy thumbing through records next to it. I immediately noticed the Shure test record underneath the TT and thought... uh-oh, might be onto something here. I asked the guy looking at records if he was buying it and he said he didn't know what it was and so I immediately said I'd take it. I don't know a ton about vintage audio but I know enough to know that what I was looking at was of very high quality. Oddly enough, I only went to this sale because the ad said they had old cameras—which I collect/repair/resell online—but they were all junk and all way overpriced. Crazy how that works sometimes.

You think 1.7ft of this stuff would be enough for the entire turntable? Thanks a bunch Dave for the tips on this wonderful turntable. I hooked mine up for this first time last week with my new Shure M97xe. Sounds great playing at lower volumes until I turned it up a bit. It started to resonate.I think the guy that sold it me got rid of it for this reason.I put the Shure on my t45 and I am back in business for now. Going to do the mods on the T60 soon.

Sorry to be so slow getting back, it shouldn't take much, some strip on the belly pan to quell any tendency to "drumming" resonance, and some strips under the sub-frame to deaden any tendency to resonate at any frequency.
