Accuphase P300 intermittent Fuzz in right channel

Hello @Big_T

Did you manage to solve your issue?

in addition, can you tell me what filter caps your bought.
I am struggling to find a suitable replacement, especially with the size limitations

I bought the exact same Nippon Chemicon 47kuf 80v as Cesari0. I bought mine from mouser. They do just barely fit!!

No I have not solved the issue with the static/fuzz although I'm more convinced now it is a connection issue on that channel and not a transistor or cap. I need some dedicated time to dive in again.

Im going to try and splice in to the channel wires further and further up the chain to try and see if it is a simple connection issue. Anyone have any concerns with doing this before I dive in? On the schematics I noticed resistors on the rotary selector switch on the input of the switch. Would there be any dangers of splicing into the line before the rotary selector and hooking up a speaker?

Does anyone know what this part is? It says relay 1 above but I can't be sure if that is what the text is talking about. Is this the relay on left front corner when looking down? I'm interested in this part because it is after the sound boards (switching the sound boards has no effect on the issue) but before the speakers.

I have cleaned the relays before with contact cleaner to no avail could i be a different part of the relay.

Could I "splice" into the line pre relay to test on a speaker or multimeter?

There are a couple of relays tucked away in the corners
To access them you pretty much have to disassemble the unit.
My experience with relays, they have to be replaced. I'm sure experienced people here have had success cleaning them.
I haven't, so I always opt to replace them if they are faulty.

SOLVED! YES!!!!!!

I tried in this session:

Re-cleaning the power level knobs: No Luck
Bypassing Speaker Selector Switch: No Luck
Re-cleaning the power output selector (%25,%50, Full): No Luck
Reseating and cleaning the RCA input jacks: No Luck

I thought I would have another go at cleaning the Speaker relay contacts located in the front right of the unit. I believe in my shame and naivete: The first time I cleaned that relay a couple years ago I have a suspicion I was cleaning on the wrong side of the contacts,, ridiculous!!

Anyway it is playing trouble free at last. I have to say a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Many thanks to all who helped with ideas, this experience has strengthened my understanding of electronics as has fostered a more meaningful relationship with my Accuphase :)
