I am a former owner twice. Search here and on the various forums. There are too many testimonials to label speaker relay issue as a "rumor".

I too am a former owner, thrice, and a current owner. Still, it seems like neither of us have had a failure that damaged speakers, hmm.

I would like to hear from someone, anyone, who out of over 100,000 ADCOM amps sold has had a failure that took out a speaker with DCV.

BTW, I'm not saying that it has never happened, just that the previous thread and this one had failed to turn up any actual examples, ... and there were a LOT of these things sold over the past 40 years.

All good amps. I've had experience with all but the Ashley gear. The TransNova amp "circuitry" was also used by Rockford in some of their car amps way back when. Good sounding stuff. Thanks for the reminders!

Also, I do recall that a lot of the Adcom 5000 series ran quite hot since something about them being biased Class A, I believe. A tech buddy in Little Rock refuses to work on an amp with MOSFET's. Lol

I just picked up a "Pro version" with rack handles GFA-555. $80 bucks. Needs cleaning. Replace all four burnt fuses, It played, but the right channel distortion lamp was flickering. I started moving the 3 wires from the center board to the right side outer driver board and it would stop. Reflowed it & finally the lamp stopped flicking. Sounds pretty good for nearly a 40 year old amp.
