Denny I agree, the stands are cool looking and there's not much else out there with a similar look. I would have been all over these in a second.

Well, I just got off the phone with the seller who informed me that he has gotten a higher offer of $600. I'm not going to get into a bidding war for these things. :thumbsdn:

That's too bad....hopefully it wasn't someone who found out about them by reading this thread. Hang on to the seller's contact information. Sometimes CL deals like that never pan out or the seller is baiting you to counter a phantom buyer's offer. You might have a chance at them later - I've heard of weirder things happening.

That's too bad... $450 was a no brainer and $600 was still quite fair in my mind but I understand about not wanting to get into a bidding war. They are a great speaker, I hope you find another pair some day.

You really do never know. I had interest in a pair of speakers on CL last year. I responded to the ad right away and the seller responded back just as quickly and said they were sold. About two months go by and out of the blue the seller emails me back and asked if I was still interested in the speakers It turns out that the first responder never came around to pick them up after weeks upon weeks of saying that he/she would. I went over there almost immediately and picked them up that afternoon. The seller was just happy to get them gone as she was moving the next day.

It's highly unlikely it will happen in this scenario as the 910's were in such great condition, but it can happen. I would love to hear that you were able to get them for $450.

Agreed. When I first saw my 910's they were at an estate sale and priced $350. I did not have the cash for them at the time. This estate sale was run by a company that often buys the leftovers from sales and brings them to other estate sales they run. I stopped at another estate sale about 6 months later and it was run by this same company and I see the 910's sitting there. I went over to look and the guy running the sale immediatley came over and told me that I could have them for "x" amount (huge discount). Said "just get them out of here". He said he was sick of moving them from sale to sale. they are 100 Lbs each. Too bad he lost the manual and one of the badges. You really never do know what will happen and also patience pays. At least in my case it did.
