I've just bought some speakers that come with a pair of a/d/s subwoofers.
I was told "they are a pair of ADS SW300 subwoofers but the original drivers are gone, what is in them now are ADS RS10's."
One site I found said they have a 300 watt subs and a 12 inch driver,
another say they have 150 watt amp and a 10 inch driver.
I have never heard ADS speakers, but I know they had a good rep, and I'm looking for any info on these subs.

As it happens, I ran across the 1996 dealer brochure recently... and within that thread linked above, this page https://audiokarma.org/forums/index...impromptu-rollcall.69719/page-18#post-9472299 mentions the SW300 as a 1996 model.
Turns out that is correct (though the comment that the SW300 is unpowered is incorrect), and the brochure describes it as a 10" 150W model that was available in black oak or cherry veneer finishes. Clearly yours are the black oak version. They also made a similar model that year called the MS3/u which has the same specs but I think a smaller/simpler cube form factor enclosure - probably for use with the MV-series tower speakers. Not sure why there were two different series of subs for that year, possible one was new and the other a holdover (note: just saw in the brochure that the MS subs have front firing ports and could be used inside walls or in furniture, and the SW were the "fine furniture" version meant to be seen and appreciated).
Interestingly, that curved pedestal design from the SW300 was evoked in the much later HT-series subs that I own, produced in the early 2000's.
I'll try and get the brochure scanned when I get time.

Do you think they might be "R10s" instead of "RS10"?
I seem to recall some mention a while back that this subwoofer driver was a preferred replacement for some ADS 10 in woofers, but I can't seem to find it. Perhaps I am mistaken, and confusing it with something else. I did locate in my files a manual that included the R10s model, attached below.

Interesting - based on your manual, it looks like the R10 drivers are car audio components - not that there's anything wrong with that, just interesting. If their rated power is 250w and the SW300 amp does 150watts, should be a safe enough pairing.

Delivery of all these speakers will be late tonight (from Fla via uShip), so maybe I can dig into them over the weekend, tho its a busy weekend and I think the priority will be determining the condition of the JBL L212s they are included with.

Interesting - so these 1996 ADS SW300 10" subs ARE actually powered subs - I thought I spotted a 3 pin AC receptical on the back of them!
That makes sense based on the rear panel view in this and the other image I've received.
I'l have to check and see if I can strip the black paint off the oak veneer - I do tend to prefer a more natural wood finish to blackout wood - but thats WAY down the road of priorities.

You probably mean Soundmotor, he hasn't stopped by in forever. He worked in one of the MA facilities (maybe both, I don't remember) before the company was purchased and moved to AZ.
The sportsbil archive above belongs to Njord Noatun who got run out of here years ago, but I can tell you there won't be any more info on this particular sub in that archive (I have been thru it, numerous times, in depth). That linked brochure covers the Sat5/Sat5 bookshelf speakers and Sub10/Sub12 companion subwoofers. There's another one that covers the L400/PB1500/C1500 sat/sub products from back before the MV/SW stuff being discussed above.
All of the contents there were copied to the remaining company archive years back (while I was product manager for a/d/s/ for Directed); that archive also contains other manuals and materials not on the sportsbil site. I also have a sizable collection of files and hard copy materials I accumulated to prevent them from being lost when the company shut down a/d/s/ as an ongoing brand and again last year when Directed was sold. That brochure was in materials from that latest rescue, along with a ton of other stuff I have yet to get through.
There were RS10 subs and also R10s subs, both for automotive use in small sealed boxes, and produced some years apart.
The SW300 is a series bandpass design as were many a/d/s/ home (and a few car) subwoofer systems including my HT-series subs. Typically will have a woofer in a box that's ported into another box that's ported out to the world, I think the latter downfiring in this case (MS3/u is front-firing version, works better for stuffing inside cabinets or walls/behind grills so it's invisible).
I probably have some data on those car subs too, but generally speaking they're probably not an ideal fit for this application other than the brand matching.

Answer is yes, the logo did change over time and possibly the trademark as well (I know the current one, haven't researched older ones that aren't active now). Originally there was small A [larger] D small S, which was often written in text as aDs though they are all caps, just the D is a larger font size. That logo was around for a few years then became ADS and eventually a/d/s/ which is the current trademark. The a/d/s/ logo dates back to roughly 1988 (based on the trademark filing date) and was registered a year later, 1989. The company would probably have started using it roughly around the time of filing though, give or take a few months either way. Also interestingly the actual word mark in that trademark filing is written as "A/D/S/" in the filing, but with the familiar a/d/s/ logo supplied for visual reference along with the mention of it consisting of 5 letters or characters in "stylized form".
As to other variants, could be but none that I've seen on actual product or literature, particularly the missing final "/" - that one I think is just really easy to forget, and because it happens constantly has become almost a default but one that I try and correct when I can.
On your list above, there are a ton of models that would have been marked as a/d/s/, but you may be able to sort that using that August 1988 filing date as a rough guideline. For instance, I think all of the powered subs listed in the last group were a/d/s/ models. same for R-series, C-series, CM, HT, ax, the later L (210, 310) and so on.
