I might have an issue

also have a pair of M-15’s that are in pieces need to veneer them as they were stripped of their black veneer before I got them due to some water damage. Easy fix. Have all drivers but some need to have Richard work his magic.

thank you for the update. I have the L-520's with Bronze grill mint and the L1 mint. Recently got a pair of the MV-40t also made in Wilmington and absolutly love them with my Dynaco MK111s mono amps. I have no grill cloths for the MV-40's though. Ideas? also have the PB1500 and C1500

As long as we are talking about ADS speakers sans L, I have a pair of ADS 300s without the L prefix. They also have foam surrounds not rubber. It's likely they were very early production around the time of the transition from Braun.

I also have a pair of those noel 300’s had to refoam them tried to find a proper butyl surround to work but was unable either size was wrong or the angle at the cone. Also just picked up a pair of noel 200’s these happened to have the butyl surrounds. And sound great.

I just came across a pair of MV30T's at Goodwill yesterday when I stopped in on a whim because it was next to the grocery store. I had never seen or heard of them before but knew just by looking at them they were better than the speakers I currently had hooked up to my home stereo/turntables/media server Frankensteins monster of an entertainment system. For $12.00 I knew I had found a deal

I bought mine circa 1986 and have cherished them ever since. Wouldn't consider replacing them but I do hold a grudge - they've spoiled me. Of course that was the start and eventually I added derived rear L-1290s. A set of L-470s appeared to make an office system with my old Atelier stuff. Then the TV sounded like hell (when not doing faux surround) so I put L310s on that, with a 3rd L310 for a center in the very few instances when I could decode real surround. Of coursethe bedroom really needed something listenable so in went some L-400s. Then oh-the-horror I hurt a 980 woofer and found both a replacement and an sw12 to prevent that from recurring. And so on.

Anyway had to chime in with thanks for the canonical ADS thread. I popped in trying to find a suitable "rear surround", still debating L-690s or L-990s as they have the form factor that would work. We shall see.

I think I caught a sickness back in 1986, thanks to a good friend who worked there. I was skeptical, he was insistent "You REALLY need these". He was right. I have been glad ever since. They'll have to pry my 980s from my cold dead ears.

LOL...older thread but I just bought super clean set of L570/2 and still breaking them in....but so far they sound very detailed with good tight bass...depending on music....great build quality...comparing them to my Polk monitor 5 and Paradigm Monitor 3

Hey John,

Do you know the reasoning around the serial numbers? It looks like 5 numbers which are appended with something like 0-1, 3-1, 4-1, 1-5 etc.
My L710’s are 04061 1-5 and 04016 1-5.

Even though they had a colored sound I loved the 2030. It and the B&W 808 wee my favorite speakers way back when that I never could afford. Both needed ample power, too; which wasn't cheap either. Loved those 2030 domes.
