Advent 3

So I have the opportunity to purchase a pair of Advent 3. The owner said they have the cloth surrounds rather than foam? They seem to be in good shape. What do you guys think?

I have "the new" advent speakers. I had to replace the foam surround on mine. I like the way they sound. I have them running off a marantz 2230. Seems like a decent price.

I have the bullnose new Advents and I love the sound, that's why I want the 3's. I'm just unsure of the cloth surround.

The 3s are pretty small.
They sound great but can not handle much power before the woofers bottom out.

I had a set, pretty sure they were foam surrounds.

Given that the woofer are easy to bottom, I'm inclined to think the ones for sale do not have original woofers. They probable were destroyed at a party at some point in the past.

We'll I also found some baby II for $50 and small Advents with the green tweeter but they are 180!

As I said in the duplicate thread back in Speakers...rubber surrounds on Advent 3's, not foam, not cloth.
Smaller Advents are definitely the better speaker, a few months ago I sold a pair refoamed and recapped with new grillcloth for $140.
Also, best not forget Smaller Advents are 4 ohm speakers....no A+B for most.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm gonna try to get the smalls for around $100, if not, I'm going with the 3's. Also sorry about the duplicate thread, i wasn't sure if I was violating the forum rules by posting this there.
