Just keep in mind that the last layer right up against the back of the woofer will lower Qtc the
most and provide LESS but tighter bass. I wouldn't bother with it. I just took out the woofers
from mine and there is a U shaped piece of fiberglass with about 1-2" of air in the center of
the fold right behind the woofer.
 
So if I were to remove a layer would that have the opposite effect? Or is making a "bowl" for the woofer to gap it more important?

Yes, removing a layer, or a half layer, try a full layer if too much bass then put back a half
behind the tweeter first then behind the woofer.

I believe that the coating on the foam is more likely the problem.

My epi 202’s are stuffed with Fiberglas. 13” x 13” squares stacked like pancakes top to bottom. The woofer just presses into the stuffing.

I am beginning to think you are right; I am still trying to figure out why the Tweeters are, well, I wouldn't call them shrill, but I would call them glassy or maybe icy? It maybe because the woofers can't reproduce some of the upper end anymore?
 
Not sure, it would be good if there was a member near you with a pair to compare.
They were voiced a bit hot for my liking, the Genesis II has a tweeter decrease
switch and I like that much better.
There could be something wrong with your tweeters but unlikely all four.
 
Are you able to play this sine generator on your computer? Are you Mac or PC?
Do you have a DVM?
 
Sorry everyone for dropping out lately. I and in the middle of dealing with an illness in the family and an in the process of moving on top of that.

As for the speakers, I plan on playing around with the togetherfi a bit but to be honest I think the tweeters are tied in all but one speaker and the woofers I have altered permanently with the foam protectant, which seems to have been a mistake in this particular application, do I will most likely sell a set as is and either keep the other set and upgrade to human drivers for them later when I can afford it it end up seeing them as well. My life circumstances dictate that I put my autoa hobby on the back burner for now but hopefully I will be able to get back into it at some future date. I appreciate everyone's help and the community at Large has been fantastic.
 
Sorry to hear about your life issues. Hopefully health is in your future and the move turns out well.

The woofer is not permanently damaged. Refoaming them will take care of the "protecterant" you applied to the foams. Those EPIs will be a great starting point when you have a chance to get back into audio.
