Advise needed for flat freq (no groove, no warmy etc) loudspeakers

Can't say about "flat" but the Cantons that I've been listening to have been very neutral and clear sounding. Very good imaging. Before you give out any money on a list of speakers that don't seem to have impressed you I would recommend using patience and waiting before buying and listening to some Cantons, especially as you are in Europe and there are many different Cantons to be found here.

Speakers interact a lot with the room, so those speakers you listened to may sound a bit different in YOUR listening space. Maybe not enough to change your choice.

If I had seen this thread before you did any listening, I would have recommended looking at nominal impedance and sensitivity ratings to make sure your amp can drive the load well. Still a good idea. It's amazing how different the output is from an 88 db/w speaker is from a 95 db/w speaker using the same amp, for example. And if you like a set of 4 ohm speakers make sure your amp can handle a 4 ohm load.

Regarding impedance - I am aware of that stuff. All three I am considering right now are able to drive 4 Ohm speakers.
Regarding sensivity - I thought it is only connected with loudness (while I am fully satisfied with 20 Watt speakers). However if you say so, here are specs:
Pioneer - 89
Quadral - no info
HECO - no info, but probably 89
Magnat - no info, but probably 91
Canton - 89

Oh, and listened today to ONKYO D-7R (sensivity: 92).
They are probably kings of flatness comparing to others in the list. However even these monsters had a problem as to my ears: somewhere between bass and middle right speaker was a bit louder.

"Studio monitors" are designed for near-field listening and are extremely flat in an ideal room (which studios probably come closer to than the average living room, one hopes!).

I think he was say that studio monitors might give you the uncolored sound you are looking for. You said you wanted flat, not warm sound

Heh, of course. But actually that way I could also take a look at a shelf-speakers. I didn't: I was looking for a floor-standing pair. This is just about design. So I think because of same reason studio monitors are also odd here.

Dear James, unfortunately there are no three-way Cantons in my city. And I don't wanna take anything without listening to it first. Going to a different city to listen to some speakers seem very boring, time consuming process.
But still, I already bought Magnat.
Now waiting for amp. And then I will tell my final opinion.
