after 10 years, an upgrade

for over 10 years i've been running a technics sl-b2, which i got as a sort of entrance into vinyl but today i pulled the trigger on a new (to me) tt. i knew the technics was etry-level, but i upgraded the cart and stylus a few times eventually settling on a grado zf3 cart with an 8mz stylus. i loved that setup but the tonearm bearings on the technics were shot and the 8mz had a million hours on it so i was itching to make a change. it wasn't cheap but i picked up a sansui sr-222 mk2 in beautiful condition today on cl. the kicker is that it came with an empire 2000z cart and a NOS stylus. i'm just starting to dial everything in but i'm already blown away and i assume the stylus still needs some run-in time to really sound its best. i had chronic IGD on my technics table no matter the alignment but the new rig tracks perfectly and sounds great from the beginning until the end of a side. its always amazing how upgrading one part of the chain reinvigorates your whole record collection! any suggestions to someone new to the empire world? (it looks like they like a little less VTF than the grado.) thankfully i don't have any of the scraping/grinding sounds other sansui sr-222 owners report. but any words of wisdom with this table?
