Akai AM-2600 : left VU meter does not move , please help

Hello

I have an Akai AM-2600.
All functions work fine, only for the left VU meter does not move.
Both VU meter lights are on.
where is the problem?

Dirty meter range select switch.Right next to the meters. Vigorously exercise the switch to see if the problem improves.Inspect the wiring connections going between the meter and the main amplifier board..

It could be a couple of things. If the sound is good in both channels then the circuit sending the signal to the meter is bad or the meter itself is bad. I would check and see if the meter is open by putting an ohmmeter across the inputs and compare the readings to the good meter. If they're the same you'll have to walk backward through the circuit looking for the signal to see where it's interrupted.
