Akai AM 93 Reference Master Amplifier

[Jayne]

Can anyone tell me what an Akai AM 93 Reference Master Amplifier is worth? It seems to be in very good condition.

I've owned an AM-73 since new, and love it. The AM-93 is rarer, and they don't come up for sale often (Akai seems to be much more common in Europe, judging by the ads on eBay). Prices for AM-73s seem to be in the $500-$800 CAD range, so I would price the AM-93 in the $700-$1000 CAD area. The Reference Master line was top quality stuff. I have the matching tuner, two of the CD players (one is a parts unit), and one of the tape decks. You really can't do any better than an AM-93, so if the price is reasonable (or even better, below average), you should get it.

He knew that it was worth something but was unsure of how much.

He's the owner, so the ball is ultimately in his court. I would offer around $400 USD, and see if he bites. The Reference Master stuff is really nice, definitely a clear illustration how they "don't build 'em like that anymore!"

Any update, Jayne?
