Hi all
i've had a search around but wanted some expert advice.
My (original, many years old) AP-D2 is running a tad slow.
What steps should I take to resolve?
Any guides/links welcome...... thx all

I can't find a service manual for that table but there is a variable resistor on the PC board inside. It might be dirty or corroded and cleaning it with DeOxit might solve this. The only image I have found of that PC board was on a completed ebay listing and it does show a "VR1" on the board but no indication that it is a speed adjustment.

Flip the table over and see if there is a hole on the bottom that has any marking on it. If it is a speed control it might have been deliberately accessible. Cleaning it and adjusting it would be best done from inside, i.e. taking the bottom off.

Some one else might come along who has more experience with that table or "FG Servo" motor circuits.

Thanks for that. Will check. The servo lock light is on which i had previously thought meant speed was ok but it's definitely slow (comparing vinyl to both digital and cd copy)

no obvious deliberate hole on the bottom.

on the turntable itself, if you remove the mat there are two holes in the actual turntable so you can see the "innards" below as it spins. in one area there is a protruding screw-like thing which looks like it could be turned but it doesn't have a straight or cross-thread on the top, i.e. would need to be turned with pliers or similar.
I won't touch it until i know - I might be barking completely up the wrong tree
cheers

Have the servo controller recapped. The motor is sealed I believe but most speed issues can usually be resolved with the repair. Have it done by a Vintage repair shop -
