I came across your 2019 thread about audio clubs in the Albany, tri-city area of NY. I'm wondering if you were successful in making contact with any. I live in Saratoga Springs and would be interested in participating if any were available in the area. I understand their is one in Mass somewhere? Thanks, Dave

This sounds.great. I'll be there. Haven't seen any info in the events and happenings section. When will it be announced? I would love to check it out and get some ideas, so I could plan an event in the Albany area. Please keep me posted.

I’d be interested in the Peekskill event if it’s still being run. I’m not sure who Glenn is but I’d be curious for an introduction as I live close by.
Another question - anyone know a good tech for 70’s receivers in the Hudson Valley?

Hi all,
I’m not doing a gathering this October. The last spring meet had a very small turnout, though many said they planned to attend. Life stuff comes up. Those that did attend had a great day. I’ll see how next spring looks and what kind of interest there is. Considering the huge number of AKers in the tri state area, I would have thought the Peekskill Lodge meets could become a great, well attended gathering.
Regarding Hudson HiFi, the owner Mike is a great guy, but if you bring him your gear for repairs, it will take a while. We have an excellent tech, AKer Tom B. who lives in Bayridge Brooklyn. He’s fixed all my gear needing work. Highly recommend him.

Thanks for replying Glenn! I’m sorry to hear of the lack on attendance this spring. I’d definitely be keen to attend any event setup in our area. I’m in Beacon but work in Brooklyn, so anywhere from the NY boroughs to Albany would be easy for me. More than happy to stop by in Peekskill if you want to meet up
My late dad was really into hifi and passed this interest on to me. I mostly see this hobby as a way to connect with those memories with him. I’m also keen to learn how to repair and upgrade vintage gear. I’m a scientist/engineer by trade and enjoy the technical challenge.
What’s the user name for Tom B in Bay Ridge? I’m going to see if I can pay him a visit after work one day. I have two 70s era receivers that need work (Sansui 7070 and Yamaha CR420). I’ve tried to do some of this myself already, but I’m still new to the technical side of things and need some help.
