Altec 605 Cabs for Watt

One more question if you guys don't mind. Do you fellas remember what the port length ended up at? I've been working on these for the last few weekends and the finish line is in sight!
 
We didn't really settle on a length. I've played around with it, from as short as it goes up to about 9" of extension. The variability has been welcome, especially after moving and switching rooms.

4" adjustable from Parts Express. Final length was determined by Watt after some trial and error listening. I don't know what that length is.

How did you decide on where to place the ports? Specifically, how far apart and how high off the ground?
