Altec A5 w/ 1505B

I have a pair of altec VOTT’s with the 1505b horns offered for $5.5k. 288b drivers, 515a woofer，1505b horns，n500c crossover. The A5 cabinet has been kept in good condition.

Is the price fair?

Original diaphragms in the 288's?

There was no "a" designated 515, just 515 with no suffix letter. Do they have original paper hinged cones and phenolic spiders, or have they been reconed with modern moving assembly?

Where are they located, as shipping is a big expense on the VOTT's. If you live somewhere that is isolated fair prices are more difficult to realize than say a large city.

If original 288B, the diaphragms cannot be replaced without the drivers being machined and re-charged. Since GPA is no longer doing this, or selling replacement parts, one should be sure that the current diaphragm load is in proper working condiition.

Similar story with original paper hinged cones and phenolic spiders.

They will require a LOT of provenance to ever approach a true value near the asking price.

The OP was a mess and I'm pretty sure was a flipper too. He is based in Hong Kong (respect) and his threads always started out that someone was offering him a pair of speakers, a tube amplifier etc for $xxx.

What was annoying was that folks who didn't know any better were gladly providing him with info, specs, suggestions etc and then a few days later he created another thread wondering about another pair of speakers, amps etc utilizing the same opening as in his initial post here.
