Same seller posting similar in all the available CL cities in this area. I guess no luck here making a sale, now branching out to surrounding areas. Almost always overpriced IMO (especially now) but if it's what ya been looking for all your life, then here's your chance.

For a craig'sbay ad the price is a bit high, especially considering the extremely vague description. Certainly not a steal, but sadly that price isn't that unrealistic.
FWIW, new 604's are 800+ each with NO cabinet.
From a construction standpoint the 620 cab was without question the highest quality box Altec built, including grills and in decent shape i'd not have an issue with dropping a k note on a pair of empty boxes.
604-8G usually brings 1200-1600 for original pairs as raw drivers with crossovers, consider that they can then require another 500 plus shipping to restore them to proper specs/function.

To paraphrase Butch Cassidy, "who is that guy?" I see his posts over at Memphis as well and occasionally on the sleepy Little Rock CL. Seems like he's got a bunch of stuff all the time....I do wonder, though, if he's a member here.

Quality over Quantity
He lists a bunch of stuff on the local CL. I did call and speak with him once about 3 years ago. He is a re-seller. Buys cheap, sells high. He did seem like a nice enough fella on the phone. He has had these Model 17s (they are exactly like mine) for a while and was asking $2500 for them not long ago. Nice speaker, but priced too high IMO, although he is getting much closer to a reasonable selling price. I saw him asking some questions on the unofficialAltec site a few months back, basically seemed like he was hoping to find a buyer there. If someone lives close and offers him $1500 (about the going price), he might take it.
