An electric clicky sound, Nakamichi CD player won't turn on

I've just done a classic repair of replacing the belts on my Nakamichi MB-3 and everything works but a new problem arose.

When I power it on, the relay sends electric surges in an attempt to start the CD player to no avail (you can see the electricity between the board and film that's zip-tied to it).

It rarely succeeds by itself, but it mostly stays in the limbo of trying and failing.

You hear the static click-ey sound of electricity as soon as you press the power button while connected to the outlet.

I don't know what I've done to damage it, maybe the transformer needs to be screwed in? I didn't assemble everything back yet, but I don't think that's it.

How do I fix this? I feel like it should be a simple problem, but I don't know what.

Here are some pics.
