I worked part time in high school for a radio station in the late '50s, and one of their studios had a different version of that board - still Collins, but two meters instead of one. The other studio had a much newer Gates.

EDIT: Ooops...just noticed the hole in the one pictured where the other meter used to be...probably the very same board.

Brings back a few memories. I had a similar high school job at a 1000 watt AM station in Muskoka (Ontario) in the early 1970s(!), still using a similar (McCurdy) board.
