I found this and i was wondering if it is worth to put 2 rectifiers in paralel?

Rating-wise, a single 5Y3 would be OK to handle this amp, or a 5U4 could be used (about the same as two 5Y3 in parallel). This amp would need about 100 mA, 5y3 is rated for 125 mA, 5U4 is rated for 225-275 mA, depending on version.

What he said. I'd run a 5U4 and call it good. Requires less power transformer too, a pair of 5Y3's want 4 amps to run, a 5U4 wants 3.

And as drawn, there is a good possibility of skewing with the double rectifier tubes not being equal over time, that is less problematical if a single 5U4GB were used.

Both the 5Y3 and the 5U4 are directly heated rectifiers ( no cathode, the filament is the cathode. I like that.

Interesting little amp,,, 5U4 (5V4 could work also, 2A indirect heater) single tubewould be a simpler way to get to get DCV,,, it would save chassis space and have less load on the PT as mentioned... Also, be nice if Voltages were on the schematics... I guess you could do the math if you used Fender Deluxe TXs, but for generics, V readings would be give ya something to shoot for... If you build it, update the schem with your V readings...
Effects switches are interesting,,, I may try the circuits on a generic git amp mule, see how they sound...

It maybe just an appearance or a preference thing. Since the design is for 'short' octal tubes the use of 5y3 gives a better look. Also all the guitar guys have lots of 5y3 around so just double up on the rectifier works too. I have a single ended amp in which i use 2 5y3 rectifiers when i use 6l6 type tubes for the correct B+ of just under 300vdc. Here is the PS for the amp which is on a separate chassis. Then when i put in kt88 i pop a pair of 5ar4 for 350 vdc as shown.

Keep in mind, in 1995, new old stock GE/RCA/Sylvania 5Y3GTs were about $4.50 at antique electronic supply, and sockets were about $1.50/ea. At the time that amp was designed, this was still plentiful old junk, and the bit less of power supply sag was probably appealing to the amp's designer. It's hard to say if it's still worth it or not, with what has happened to prices on just about everything.
