Seller actually has a link to an AK thread on his ad.
This one seems legit to me, but how would I know?

It maybe real. looks like they took the time to look up info. but the listing looks to nice to be a 0 feedback person.

but look at the bottom of his listing.

"A note about me: I am returning to Ebay after several years of absence, so I have no feedback as of yet. Last time, I had nothing but positive feedback, and I intend to do the same this time."

ummm why not use the old ebay account it's not like ebay deletes old accounts if they are not used.

Ebay suspends your account, good or negative feedback if the fees go unpaid.Possibly he was a good seller with unpaid fees. You can always start up a new account with different credit card info.

Maybe they no longer have the email account associated with it and therefore can't figure out how to gain access?

Appears legitimate.
And I do remember him from before.

With a new user name and all it would be hard to remember anyone from before. To me the listing looks like coping from other listings. It says he inherited these from my stepmother. To me that puts up a red flag. This time its not a dead dad but a dead stepmother. Then all the testing they did sounds like more then someone who got them from their stepmother would do.

He does offer local pickup but I wonder if he wants paypal before or if cash is ok on pickup.

Why is there a "cgi" in front of alot of ebay addresses? I thought that was a Euro thing?

If someone can get them for the opening bid and do local pickup they will get some great speakers at a great price.

Getting into an old e-prey acct is difficult if you have moved and/or changed email accts etc. Couldn't recall passwords and login name.I ran into the same problem so I will be starting from scratch too....

everyone starts somewhere..... really if ya wanted to scam someone why with klh 5's? and why at only 25 dollars.... its real....

thats what I am starting to think. but then again that would be the way to scam people. when they have something that is too good to be true we know better. so have something that is more likely to be real and people will bid.

I saw a scammer one time that had lots of boxes of one touch ultra blood suger testing strips listed. selling lets of 400 for like 185 each and they sold like 180 of them and then I was watching the account it started to get a lot of neg feedback people saying it was a scam.

Don't buy anything big from someone with zero feedback. It's not worth the risk. His explanation may be true, but how about some responsibility in one's life like:

"I better maintain my Ebay account/e-mail account so I can continue my long history of positive feedback."

The seller sounds nuts for just this one fact: not maintaining his account.

Ebay is for serious people and it is now inundated with scams and annoying people who don't know how to buy or sell with a professional attitude. I know I've ranted before, but at this point, I'm seriously considering complaining to Ebay about a whole list of their members. Not that they care, but I hope you are at least amused by me here.

i can understand being pre-cautious... but being paranoid? i sell on ebay all of the time, big stuff, little stuff. what does it matter? i personally think the klh's are good... they are a great speaker, but, they are not lowthers or western electric units. scam artists use high dollar items usually.. like i said, everyone starts somewhere on e bay.

Only feedback from the last 12 months is counted. Even if you never left, if you have had no transactions in the last year, your fb rating is zero.

I don't see anything in that listing that would worry me. The way the listing is structured, the text, the phrases, all seem like an experienced seller, and not a zero fb newb.

I think legit, but a little risky with 0 feedback. IF you must, credit card & paypal is the way to go if you can't do local pickup.

I have a pair of these, so I'll be watching :)

As for this:

Common Gateway Interface (CGI) is a standard protocol for interfacing external application software with an information server.
