I'm curious which table you refer to. I have 4 linear tables, all from different manufacturers. One of them requires virtually no setup (Technics SL-5), and the other three (Pio PL-L800, Sony PX-LX500, Sansui P-L50) aren't significantly different than a conventional table. The Pio is perhaps a bit more fiddly, but not more than some conventional tables that I have.
I have a linear arm and it is a bear (read PITA) to set up. A table where the arm position is set sounds like an improvement. I have always wondered, in the case of a linear table, if the arm comes with a "jig" that allows you to set the stylus in the perfect point in both the vertical and horizontal planes?
I mean, how does it work?
