4- Conversion to led
The goal was to achieve the same lighting (color, intensity, dispersion) as the original bulbs, but without the problems associated with the generated heat.
The power supply of the lamps were changed from AC (yellow mark) to DC (red mark), simply changing a jumper (reversible). This simplifies the change from lamps to LEDs, since only one limiting resistor is needed per diode. And it avoids the slight flickering that occurs with a half-wave rectifier. As each led only draws 2.5mA it does not represent any problem for D521.
Wide dispersion red LEDs have been used

You and @rottalpha make me want to do another one, this time with LED's. Really nice work both of you! Love the work you did on the binding posts. I ordered mine from Germany and it took over a month to get them.

Hello Dave. I used acetone. It dissolves relatively easily.
Backstory on this vid, I just did it because it's the first time I've fired up this Pioneer PL-560 turntable in over 15 years. The album, was one I have been saving for 43 years to play on that set of ADS 910's I was/am hoping to get one day. It's the album I heard on a set that many years ago. I've not played it since. Well, anyway, the turntable will be going under the knife soon for restorations, so It's just temp set up on the bench to get it in the video working.
Anyway @amr2 I love the MX-1000. I could care less if there are other ... better .... nicer amps out there. I love everything about the MX-1000 and have since the first time I seen one around the same time I seen the ADS 910, and could afford neither, and I'm happy as I can be to own two if them now. I recapped both with very little experience in doing so. Sorry I didn't get closer on the amps, buy you fellas know what they look like.
Mine here are pulling bi-amp duties,one for woofers the other for the tweeters/mids. Recording doesn't have much bass in it, but other vinyls shook the walls that Sunday I recorded this.

NICE!!! I too have the CX-1000. Have you recapped? or will you recap the CX?

Not in the short term. It does not have much use, and in general everything is in good condition. I only had to reflow the RCA connectors.

Great job! Enjoy your amp! I'm using a Yamaha M60 right now with my NS-1000m's along with a Audio Research tube pre-amp and it sounds great! Getting my Yamaha MX2000 recapped at the moment. Can't wait to try it out with the NS-1000m's!
The CX is a lot more challenging to recap. I had my brother help me on some of it, only because my eyes were giving out on me with all the caps in there and dealing with a tough work schedule. The CX-1000 is a married match for the Mx-1000 and I have no desire to search for any kind of replacement. I was having an issue with digital drop out, which definitely turned out to be cold solder joints. Week before last was the first time I ever used the Phono section on that Pre, and I had a grin from ear to ear. To be honest, I personally didn't hear any sonic difference after the recap, but .... It was a fun project for me, I learned a lot, and caps is now something I don't need to worry about.
Just to say it again, am really impressed on your work with changing out the lights and replacing with LED's on the MX. Thanks for documenting that procedure for US/me!

Yes, I used a DBT with a 100W bulb. It works fine.
As the amp was working fine (despite cold solder joints!), I didn't expect any major problems. So I assembled the subboards directly, but using small amount of solder (so that in case of problems I could disassemble them without overheating the pads). Once I verified that everything was working correctly, I did the final solder.
