Antenna for vintage Onkyo

I have a great onkyo tx-2500 but my FM reception isn’t the best. (There’s a low power local indie station I can’t pick up, and a few stations that come through and sound good but not at high enough signal to engage the FM lock when it’s on.)

The antenna hookup on the back is a twin lead binding post connection that says FM 300 ohms. If I get this thing (https://www.uninex.com/hdtv-rabbit-ear-antenna-with-knob-control.html) and a coaxial to twin lead adapter, will that work?

Sounds as though you don't have anything for an antenna right now. Am I correct ? Try a simple piece of wire about three feet long. Nothing fancy, just let it lay there and see what you get. Plenty of other options after that. Next would be a twin lead T.

I use a pair of vintage Archer rabbit ears, and I get the college station in Philly (35 miles away) just fine. Signal strength isn't high, but it is quiet and sounds fine. Other low power local stations aren't a problem either. The link you posted seems like a modern version. For the price it isn't much more expensive than a twin lead T, so I'd give it a try. Of course mounting a high gain antenna outdoors would be even better if you have that option, but that would require proper grounding, running coax, etc. There are some expert antenna guys here on AK who may be along shortly to give you some advice. I also use a set of those Archer ears. The coil equals a half wave. Rembrandt also made a set.
