any akg 240 sextett fans here(with quick impressions)?

It has been a few years since I owned a pair of AKG K340 but I recall you can find a pair of velour pads to replace the "pleather stock pads". I think the K240/271 velour pads fit the K340, but research it.

yea you can. i think the 240 pads should work fine. question tho how they'll sound? i like leather pads of my sextetts keeps a nice seal. i think velour is made to ''breath'' so i think it might be possible that the seal might not be as good and can decrease some things like bass extension.
 
To some the seal/bass issue would be a big deal. In my case the pleather pads are so hot/sweaty that it was a no brainer and I got the velour pads. YMMV!
 
i'll agree they can be. is it the current pleather pads that's used with current k240 models you tried? for some reason i always found the pads that came with the sextetts and original model k240 series lot softer and comfortable on the ears. might be little flat depending on how much it was put in use but nothing a simple stuffing underneath the pads won't fix.
