Anyone else having trouble with Hifi engine ?

Hi. Im at a loss to know where to get some help with this. I have seen there were some older posts where members got help with vinylengine logins so Im hoping someone might know where I can get some help for hifiengine. I have read the FAQ page and it seem there is no info that helps in my case.

I can no longer login to hifiengine. When I try to login with either username or email it says my password is incorrect. If I try to use the reset password facility it says my account isn't recognised. Ive tried with both email and username.

I dont want to make a new account as per hifiengine FAQ and when I try with a new mailbox on my domain it says I'm already registered so I am at an loss what to do next. I even tried emailing webmaster @ hifiengine.com

Anyone know who I can contact to get some help?

I wish I could help, but it seems that the person in charge of those "Engine" 'sites is not quite normal to put it mildly. Not being able to register is no great loss IMO.

Ha thanks. I sort of got that from the *engine FAQ but Im sure he has his reasons. The internet is full of crazies :)

Yep. I just create a new account and call it good. But I'm careful to never use the old one. I got into a bit of a pissing contest with the admin a while back on a review site. I'll just say this: He has great content and there is really nothing like it on the internet that I'm aware of, but I avoid the forums like the plague.

Thanks, Im not using a VPN but in the UK. Had been working absolutely fine until about 3 weeks ago.
He's got some sort of "VPN" detector and you can't do much with account attributes while using VPN. I tried to set up an account there using VPN and it would not work. I think I even got a message explaining that I couldn't do it BECAUSE I was using VPN, IIRC. If you are just accessing the site to use its content, VPN works fine, at least for me.

And just a friendly reminder from the site rules here:

8. Conflicts or gripes with other people or other forums do not belong on AK.

I'm painfully aware of that one because I really got into it about VE several years ago in a thread here. Oops.

Sometimes if a user is using a VPN it messes with it. Some overseas IP addresses mess with it too.

When using a VPN you can access the VE site or it's sister site hifiengine. You just can't post. When posting to either site I compose my post then turn off my VPN long enough to post. It's then immediately turned back on.

Well like I said im not using a VPN just regular UK based ISP that was working for years - then suddenly cant login. Just looking for some help with that. I want to download service manuals so I can make repairs. I can probably find them elsewhere but HE has the info on each product quite well organised.

Actually - "Review Site" mentioned above has given me an idea...

Can't help - we are not HiFiEngine and are not the same management.
Worst case - create a new account there with a different email address.

I've been a member of HiFi engine for over 7 years but now I try to log in and it doesn't recognize my username or email address. I can't even get a new password sent and they're not accepting and new accounts. Anyone else having this issue ?

Yeah same thing happened to me and a lot of others on here. There are a couple of threads about this issue, but I am not sure what the issue is. Some say it is run by one person and if you are not active for a long time, you get axed and can't log in and if you create another account, you will be banned. Idk for sure if a solution was found or not.

Yes, I can’t access it at work because of our VPN configuration but at home it still works for me. It says that it’s inaccessible due to VPN for me though so at least I know why, not sure if that’s the case for everyone.

I'm pretty active on the site. You can't contact the Webmaster unless you're logged in and I can't log in. It sux because it's the most extensive source of free information I know of.
