Anyone here use a Keurig coffee maker?

I bought a Keurig Special Edition coffee maker this year as a Christmas gift to my wife and I. I really like it. A fresh brewed cup every time. I have been trying different types of coffee but so far like the Starbucks the best.
Anyone else use one of these?

I'm a strictly decaf drinker now, but I very much enjoy a good cup of brew.

I've been eyeing them, but from afar. How are the decaf selections?

I have been looking into decaf as well, especially now that I'm having several cups a day! The Dunkin Donuts decaf is pretty good, I have also been trying the Green Mountain Half-Caff which isn't bad either, although it is not fully decaffeinated.

I've had a rather hard-nosed stance against the Keurig devices as I see them to be wasteful: each cup brewed produces more plastic waste (the K-cup) than many full pots of regular coffee.

HOWEVER, this is not intended to be a thread-crap.

I don't have a family and I do enjoy a good cup of coffee. I tend to brew a 1/3 or 1/2-pot and end up pouring a not-insignificant amount of coffee down the drain a day or two (or more) later when I make another 1/2-pot. Plus, if we consider how much more electricity is used brewing and warming many cups that usually don't get consumed, then perhaps the cup-at-a-time-on-demand device is actually coming out ahead! :)

Often I find myself drinking Sanka-style instant coffee. Yum! (<-- Note the sarcastic use of the exclamation point.)

Does it keep the reservoir tank hot, or does it heat on demand?

Not the whole tank, it takes in enough for a cup or two and keeps it hot, then replenishes it when used. It only takes a little over one minute to get a fresh brewed cup of joe!

The gal who cuts my hair has one. It's nice to be able to drink a fresh cup of coffee while getting a haircut. That said, I wouldn't buy one for myself. I'd rather buy good beans, grind them and make my own coffee.

Almost bought one for Christmas for our family from Costco for $149 but decided to put the $ toward a new washer and dryer. We may get one from from Costco eventually since it comes with a large sampler of coffee capsules (60) and a filter/basket which allows the use of your own ground coffee instead of trapping you into buying K-capsules.

+10

I swear....the Aeropress makes the best tasting smoothest cup of coffee you'll ever make for yourself...

I've had mine for 3 years...no issues. Makes a great cup-o-joe. If you are concerned about wasting plastic and/or using fresh ground bean, get the Keurig fill-ur-own Kcup and fill it with what ever you desire. Got mine for about 10 bucks.

Hmm ... VERY interesting.

Someone in my family got one for Christmas and it was the first time I'd heard of it. It does seem to be a really neat device. Since I normally drink 1 pot of coffee in the morning, I don't know if it's for me. For those who only drink a cup or two at a time, it may be just the ticket. I think that it's really neat that there are so many different beverages to chose from, not just coffee. I was looking at some reviews on Amazon and most seem to really like it.

My wife got one for Christmas. .. is perfect cuz she only drinks maybe one or two cups..... I drink a pot a day.... only had the sampler pack but some Very good coffees.... also tea or iced coffee is novel. Machine works pretty snifty too. Bought the filter so I can throw in my good real ground stuff....
wife loves "foo-foo" and I drink it straight black n bold...

I would say they are pricey but are good quality equipment.
