Anyone recognize these speakers?

Hi All-noticed these on the local CL and was wondering if anyone knows what they are? Never seen anything quite like them before.

Owner sent me and email saying that the labels had fallen off so he doesn't know. I do see that there is one badge on the left one that someone may recognize.

I had considered that but have never seen a Wharfedale logo like that before. Not sure...

Yah, I noticed that too, originally assumed that maybe the whole cabinet was just upside down but I can see remnants of the adhesive for the badge on that one and it is the same orientation as the other.

They are interesting in that the grill cloth seems to wrap around maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of the way on the sides.

Judging from the style and rear connectors, probably a midfi local/regional manufacturer of the 70s.

I can never find that link to a big list of audio manufacturers when I need it. I don't recognize the W logo.

see if the seller can get you pics with grilles removed, that would help a lot.

They look pretty generic to me, so you should offer less if you really want them.

The fact that no one has heard of them and they have fairly cheap spring connectors on the rear *probably means they are not fantastic. But they might be just fine especially for a second system. Check for bad woofer foam and old crossover capacitors. All depends on your desire to have more speakers. I have a lot so I'd probably pass on them, but there was a time...

I think I've seen that logo before. Whoever mentioned mid-fi regional brand was most likely correct.

I think thats a couple of sine waves, not a W. It rings a bell in my head, but why?
