Just ordered the new vinyl 2 LP set of 666.

I remember hearing it for the first time in high school on a Sansui AU-717 through some Technics SB-7000 speakers. It was a mind altering and life changing experience. :smoke:

Very cool!!

I have a near perfect original copy on Vertigo...as the cover says (with the crack-up painting of the Citroen Deux Cheveau), "This Work Was Recorded Under The Influence Of Sahlep".

Evangelo Papathanasiou/Costas Ferris

For those not familiar with a 2CV (short for two horse-power), looks like this:

Wow! That's a blast from the past!

I remember sitting around and... well, let's just say I've heard that album before... :para: :)

One of my favorite groups. I have 3 copies of 666 on vinyl and the cd. I also have a couple more of their albums. I am always looking forwards to listen to 666.:music:

I had one of them Citroen's when in Argentina....fun little thing...along with a Fiat 600...and Vangelis was on the radio a lot.

I'd never heard of the group until I ran across a copy of 666 at the thrifts and it looked like something I had to have. Very cool music. I remember I found that and a vg+ copy of Dinosaur Swamps by the Flock on the same day. Talk about some eclectic music.

This came in the mail this weekend. Wow, this is one of the quietest pieces of new vinyl I've ever heard. And they did a great job with the recording as well. If you like this album, I highly recommend it. :tresbon:

Another one added to the wish list.

My copy's old and beat to hell, but the music is incomparable. :music:

You might also give this a spin...

...although it's a bit later, but still a Greek band.

Socrates with V. O. Papathanasiou - PHOS

Funny...they mis-spelled Vangelis' last name (two SS) on this version. I have an original Greek/French copy and it just says the Band and Album title on the front.

I ordered mine locally from Euclid Records. Wasn't cheap, but worth it IMHO. :D

Actually, I'm WRONG on the spelling; this is correct:

Vangelis [Evangelos] O. Papathanassiou

The version that I have is on Peters International (vinyl) Phonogram 1976. It's available on CD at Amazon.

This piece is quite edgy and bluesy. Socrates other work (4th album as of 1976) is rather raw and metallic.
