I bought a pair here in South Florida yesterday for $1400 and I was wondering what amp to pair it with? I'm using a Conrad Johnson MV-55 (40 watts), but I've heard they are rated at 8 watts, so my question is, should I consider buying a 300B or 2A3 with 4-8 watts? I don't want to blow up this babys!

I don't think the AR-1's are super efficient, so I don't think they would be ideal for lower watt SET amps. I would honestly think a 40 watt tube amp would be fine for them, as long as you don't crank them way too far and blow the speakers somehow. I had a pair and I tried them with 8 watt SET and an Eico ST40. I preferred the ST40 as it drove the lows better. I only bought mine to harvest the 755A's out of. The 755A's on their own can be used well with SET amps or push pull, depending on preferences but don't expect much in the way of lows anyway.Does anyone have any suggestions on which amp I should pair with the AR-1's?
