Yes woofer is not original, but not too difficult to replace. Tweeters, cabinet, badge and grille look great.

I've never heard the LST or MST series of speakers. But, I do know those woofers are NOT original. AR never used a wizzer cone poly woofer! Ever!

The woofers from the 18's (which version: 18S, 18B, 18BX......?) are a bit different but will fit the exiting hole and should serve as a reasonable replacement. The MST does not come up for sale every day, and the one shown is the second (and better) version. The first MST had four tweeters but it was deemed to have some HF interference problems after it was originally released. Grab this pair if you can.

I have a pair of woofers from some AR 18's. Are they the same as the originals?

Many AR same sized woofers were very similar to one another, concerning specifications. Usually variations in trim and finish accounted for the various AR part numbers. So, I'd try them, as they'd have to be better than what's installed now. And as long as the AR-18 woofers are close in impedance to the MST stock woofers, I think you'll be fine. Now, let me see if I can find what the impedance of the MST woofers are?

Surrounds probably rotted years ago and the owner was unaware they could be refoamed. Many original woofers thrown in the trash unfortunately.
They look nice!

These look like the second AR-MST, The first ones have 4 tweeters.
The woofers in MST are shared with the AR-7
Aside from the woofers they look very nice

Grab 'em. Pop out those whizzer cones and list them and seek a pair of vintage AR drivers. They are a very nice speaker and on the rarer side of things. GD70 restored a pair similar and could help you along. Nice find...
These are the little brother to my LST-2's, which are the little brother to the original LST's.
The LST-2's are excellent sounding speakers with a crazy wide sound stage. These I would assume would be similar.

likely the whizzer cones won't matter since the crossover choke will filter out any frequencies it was meant to produce. I would look for an AR6/7/8 woofer as a replacement.

Nice sounding speaker. I've been looking for them for a while, though not willing to pay the sort of price they usually command. Obviously not the speaker the LST is, but possibly more enjoyable within its limitations.
