No real opinion because I haven't heard them, but they look damn impressive to me.

Have you had a chance to listen to them?

Wow... Those are funky-looking.... in a good way though. I'm guessing those are late '70's, although that's only a guess. The woofers remind me of the late '70's Wharfedale E** series models (and Wharfedale was a sister company to Leak back in the Rank/Wharfedale era, so I could see the drivers looking similar to their later models). I've seen a tweeter like that somewhere, but I can't remember what speaker.

I would imagine those cabs are heavy, right? Have you tried using them yet?

Make sure the surrounds are all intact. they are an irregular size that is not very available here in the states. I was looking at a pair locally and that was the issue. Surrounds are almost impossible to source. I'm not kidding on this one.

They sound great. The TS guy laughed when he saw the name and thought they were junk so I didn't pay much. As you know, Leak is high end stuff, so I grabbed them.

I own a pair of Leak 3030. Good, classic, british speakers with slightly warmish colorisation. Highs laid back a little bit, but great mid compartment. Bass is potentialy there, but only with bassy amplification. Speakers meant to esthetically match Delta series amps. Quality situation similar like in delta amps, ambitious design based on Leak's ideas, but Rank was introducing mass praduction and cheap components to compete with Japs those days so here we have a funny hybride of high end and super economy class :)

P.S. 3030 is nowhere near to Wharfesdale 70's E series and 60's W series.

Hey,

That's really odd. I have a pair of 2060's and find them far more refined than my early W60's were. They dig deeper, go higher. I'm in the process of installing new caps and resistors, should be done this week. The old parts were off spec, should be far better!

Leak Sandwich 300 is brilliant speakers!
Sound is just incredible, and i have others to compare with! Pioneer CS E-700 for example.
