Hey AK,
Picked up a pair of AR2s a few months ago and have been loving them, but now one of them only operates the dual mids (aka tweeter section). I don't think these have ever been opened up, but can't be sure. What I do know is the crossover knob feels dry and slightly squeaks (like nails on a chalkboard). The woofer just didn't work when I went to play them the other day. The other speaker is working well, however. I tried switching cables and outputs and I get the same result.
Any ideas?

. Often there are glue joints that may come loose with these woofers between the metal basket and the masonite rings at surround and spider, but that should not shut down the woofer entirely and would show as entirely different symptoms. You may have to open it up but be very careful removing the grille cloth/frame - - it may be attached with tiny staples at the perimeter which can be difficult to see, esp. if you have the tweedy-looking grille cloth.
