Are Cornwall IV's Too Good?

I love my Cornwall 1s. I'm using a McIntosh MC2205 to drive them, and unless I really crank them up, they sound great. I hear a bit of harshness when they are too loud, but it is rare I put them up that loud. One day, I may have a shoot out between them and my Kef 105s. I wonder which will win?

^that has to be the Mac gear. I heard the same thing at my dealer when purchasing the CW IV’s this year. At home with my Parasound A21+ , I do not get that same break up at the top end that I heard there. I had them at ear bleeding levels earlier today with MJ, Gap Band, EWF etc, no harshness or fatigue. Synergy is very important with horns.
Are they too good? Maybe, but they crush anything $10k and under IMO.

edit nothing against the Mac stuff, just my 2c as it relates to what I heard.

I wouldn't argue with you there. They still sound great, and for ear bleeding levels I have my Bose 1801 driving Kef 105s.
