Are Speakers Good After 25 Years?

25 years really isn't that old, most the stuff I have here is that old or older. My LE14s could be pushing 40.

FWIW, speakers really are low maintenance. Think about it; a couple new caps and some surrounds every 25-30 years for the price of a pizza. Don't you wish your brakes were that dependable :D

Well, if it is any indication, all of the speakers I can actually afford and provide the level of performance I want are older than 25 years (most are older than 30 years). Newer speakers just don't do it for me, until you get up into the multi-kilo-buck range.

That said, if Bill Dudleston were to drop a set of Legacy Focus' off at my house I would be in his debt (or be in debt, anyways). Same goes for PMC EB1i's.

My problem is that I have champaign taste on a beer budget. The closest I can get are TOTL speakers that are long past their prime.
